European union regulators have imposed a €1.84 billion fine on apple for obstructing rival music streaming services from informing iphone users about more cost-effective subscription options outside of the apple app store. Eu's antitrust chief, margrethe vestager, stated that this action contravenes eu antitrust regulations and represents apple's inaugural penalty for violating eu legislation.
